bees
We are pleased to introduce a new selection of etchings from local artist Louise Bird.
Louise has been working as an artist in East Anglia for over 15 years. She has skills in many different print techniques and has produced a series of etchings based on her interest for the subject of bees. Etching is a method of creating an original work of art on a sheet of metal. Next an image is drawn into a hard ground that coats the metal, which is then etched with acid. The plate is then covered in ink, and by a very careful process of wiping the image is revealed, ready for printing through an etching press. First hand involvement and study of the subject matter is very important to Louise, and subsequently she has gone on to keep her own bees.
All of the etchings are mounted ready for framing and are also signed and editioned by the artist.
